Higher Ground was a benefit concert to raise money for hurricane relief efforts is available as audio on demand from NPR. The concert goes for five hours and features Wynton Marsalis, Herbie Hancock, Dianna Krall, Paul Simon and Norah Jones among others.

On a side note it’s interesting to hear NPR’s generally liberal compares talk about the resonanceof spirituals to people in hard times. It seems to me, that like the psalms they express real human emotions – hopefully through finding resonance with the songs, they’ll be lead to the hope behind the lyrics.
