So...

...this blog has been quiet for several months now. There’s a couple of reasons for this:

  1. I finished my PhD — this meant I was spending my life either working or writing and had no time for blogging.
Me submitting my thesis for examination
  2. I finished my PhD — and so we went on a lovely holiday in Tasmania
Lea, Elijah and I on a sunny day at Cradle Mountain
  3. I finished my PhD — and haven’t wanted to spend time in front of the computer unless I had to.
This is my supervisors and me after my graduation. Left: My co-supervisor Prof. Dianne Wiley. Right: My supervisor Prof. Tony Fane.

But I’ve graduated now and after redesigning Mum and Dad’s site are slowly warming to writing a blog again.

I’m planning to have a mix of content: opinion, Christian things, links and nerdy stuff. I’m also hoping to upload some of my professional publications and material from old blogs. The other things I’d like to do is some changes to this site’s design — I think the colours are too stark for starters.

So stay turned and we’ll see what happens.

I think the little hats PhD-ers get to wear at their graduation are cool…

    Yeah. They are pretty cool.

In the dark hours of the nights when all motivation was gone, I would sit and remember that this was all so I could wear the hat. :)

Methinks the real motivation you had through all this was the doctor jokes you were gonna get at the end (‘Hey, you’re a doctor now, can you cure my cold ho ho ho’).

    Congrats btw :)
